Fighting for survival in a shattered world… the truth is her only hope.
I have done bad things. I can’t take them back, and they are part of who I am.
Tris has survived a brutal attack on her former home and family. But she has paid a terrible price. Wracked by grief and guilt, she becomes ever more reckless as she struggles to accept her new future.
Yet if Tris wants to uncover the truth about her world, she must be stronger than ever… because more shocking choices and sacrifices lie ahead.
This is the sequel to Divergent, reviewed here. You should definitely read Divergent first, I don’t think the story would make as much sense if you don’t.
The plot was really good, it starts from where the last one left off and just keeps going. It was really interesting, never ever got bored, which is really offputting, even when the book is really brilliant. It’s a really interstsing story, the fact people don’t fit into categories is a very intersting thing to write a book about. Personally I really like this kind of book, but I do think it is just a good book in general.
I loved the characters, she really made me care about them and want to know what happens. I liked Tris more in this book than in the last one, she seemed more vulnerable while in the last one she seemed to strong, although I think she could have actually been ignoring the pain to get through it, which was more evident at the end, but for a while it seemed like she wasn’t at all realistic.
It had a good voice, written from Tris’s point of view it was really interesting, she is a good character. I thought it was written very well, giving a good description and a good feeling for what’s happening.
Over all I really enjoyed this book, it swallowed me whole, I couldn’t wait to read it after the last one and it lived up to my expectations. It is one of my favourite books and I can’t wait for the next one to come out (not long now!)
I would deffinetly recomend this book, although it does have a little bit of gore it’s really not that bad.
I give this book 9/10 Cliffhanger! I hate that, and I had to wait so long for the next one…
